USA: Physician faces prison in health care fraud case

therepublic.com on March 21, 2011 reported that a physician facing prison for her role in a Detroit Public Schools corruption case is accused of submitting Medicare claims for patients who already were dead. Gwendolyn Washington was arraigned Monday on health care fraud charges in federal court in Detroit. She also is accused of writing phony prescriptions and faces a hearing Tuesday.
