Canada: Doctor fined for not creating a back up for his patients before leaving

edmontonjournal.com on April 20, 2011 reported that a physician who suddenly left Alberta last year has been found guilty of not arranging for the care of his patients in his Edmonton family practice prior to departure. Dr. Norman D. Goldstuck left the province around April 30, 2010, without giving his patients adequate notice or helping them find other physicians to take over their care, the College of Physicians and Surgeons ruled.
