greenwichtime.com on June 27, 2011 reported that the state Department of Public Health has denied a Greenwich physician’s request to have his license reinstated, despite the state Medical Examining Board ruling last month that the doctor, a registered sex offender, could resume his practice under certain conditions. Dr. Clifford Berken, 57, of Stamford, pleaded guilty in February 2010 to a charge of attempting to disseminate indecent material to a minor after he engaged in sexually explicit online conversations with undercover officers posing as a teenage boy. Berken was arrested when he attempted to meet the boy in White Plains, N.Y., and was instead confronted by police.
