United Kingdom: Sentencing scheduled for accused doctor
thedailynewsonline.com on July 13, 2011 reported that a new date has been set for sentencing for a longtime pediatrician in Albion and Medina who faces a state prison term and possible deportation for making fraudulent Medicaid claims. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa was supposed to be sentenced June 13 in Orleans County Court but the sentencing was adjourned. Orleans County Court officials said Mustafa is now scheduled to be sentenced at 2 p.m. Aug. 29. No reason was given for the adjournment by the New York State Attorney General’s Office when contacted Monday. Mustafa in March pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny and admitted making false Medicaid claims totaling $179,000.
