USA: Suspended plastic surgeon faces additional charges

pe.com on July 27, 2011 reported that a former Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who is already under investigation for a patient death has also been accused of grand theft and living in America illegally. Dr. Ehab Mohamed was arrested by Los Angeles police in a sting the involved the attempted sale to a spa of a piece of leased medical equipment for $20,000, district attorney’s spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said Wednesday. Mohamed pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of grand theft and attempted grand theft on Tuesday. He was arrested at his Encino offices on Friday, Gibbons said. Bail has been set for $1 million and a preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 3.
