pe.com on August 05, 2011 reported that a former Hemet doctor pleaded guilty Friday to six felonies of committing sexual acts on his patients. David Joseph Mata was sentenced to 60 days in a work-release program and five years’ probation in a plea agreement in which 42 other charges were dismissed. Without the plea deal, the charges would have carried up to six years in prison. Prosecutors said the deal for probation was reached after the attorney general’s office and state medical board revoked Mata’s license to work as a physician. The Riverside County district attorney’s office contacted Mata’s victims, who said they were satisfied with the outcome, Deputy District Attorney Jess Walsh said.
