bulawayo24.com on August 06, 2011 reported that a 35-year-old Murehwa doctor has been arrested for allegedly conniving with a Murehwa man to process fake death confirmation records for his two children to claim US$10 000 from the family’s funeral policy, state controlled ‘The Herald’ reported. The doctor has since appeared in court on fraud charges. Dr Abraham Mapfumo, who was based at Murehwa District Hospital, allegedly misrepresented that Mica Nsamba’s two children had died of pneumonia in separate incidents, while admitted at the hospital. Armed with the fake papers, Nsamba allegedly collected US$5 000 on each “death” from Old Mutual Funeral Benefit Plan.
