India: Five fake doctors arrested

mumbaimirror.com on August 11, 2011 reported that five people who couldn’t even clear class VII practised as doctors in Boisar, Thane district, after obtaining fake degrees. One of them, in fact, even performed deliveries at her clinic. Their apparently thriving practices came to an end on Tuesday evening when the Palghar police arrested them. Subhash Yadav, S K Malik, Niranjan Verma, Gita Gupta and S S Patil possess medical degrees from UP colleges that don’t exist, said Palghar’s chief medical officer, Dr H Kokane.
