chron.com on September 01, 2011 reported that a former Minnesota nurse accused of stealing a painkiller from a patient during surgery and allegedly telling the patient to “man up” won’t serve any jail time under a plea deal. Sarah May Casareto entered an Alford plea Thursday to a fifth-degree controlled substance crime for possession of fentanyl. The plea allows Casareto to maintain her innocence but acknowledges that the evidence would be enough to convict her. After she serves three years’ probation, the case will be dismissed and her record wiped clean.
