torontosun.com on September 12, 2011 reported that an ex-Vancouver acupuncturist who sexually assaulted four female patients was sentenced Monday to 18 months in prison followed by three years of probation. Rang Pham must also submit a DNA sample and remain on the national sex offender registry for 20 years. Crown counsel Elliot Poll had called for one to two years of imprisonment. “It’s not so much about the number of years; it’s more about the fact he was held accountable and it was made public that he assaulted these women, so many women,” said Summer-Rain Bentham of the Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter, which supported the victims through the hearing.
