India: Sex determination lands doctor, clinic in trouble

earlytimes.in on September 14, 2011 reported that a team of health department and police today sealed an ultra-sound clinic for violating the PNDT act and arrested a doctor present in the clinic allegedly involved in conducting sex determination test. As per the reports, after getting specific information that Mata Santo Devi Memorial Ultra-Sound clinic is violating the PNDT Act and is routinely conducting the sex determination tests, a team headed by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu, Dr Baldev Raj Sharma along with a police party raided the clinic and seized the records.
