hometownsource.com on November 03, 2011 reported that a former Fairview Northland Hospital anesthetist involved in a 1999 patient death has had his license revoked for performing medical procedures while high on drugs that he allegedly stole from patients and hospitals. The Minnesota Board of Nursing revoked the license of Jerold Mullins on Oct. 13 of this year, according to a consent order released by the board. The board alleges that Mullins diverted narcotics for his own use and performed procedures while under the influence of drugs, specifically Fentanyl. Fentanyl is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine, according to the website webMd.com, and is used as a pain reliever as well as an anesthetic in combination with a benzodiazepine.
