ourtribune.com on November 07, 2011 reported that Humble area and West University doctor Christina Joy Clardy asked the Hon. Melinda Harmon to consider her age and the fact that she had been living in close quarters with women in gay relationships as the judge made her determination regarding punishment. “While prison may be easy for some, I find it very difficult,” said Clardy, 61, “I am considerably older than the general population and the other women have not had the higher education level I have.” Clardy studied at Mehaffy Medical College in Memphis where Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s doctor, also took his degree. Judge Harmon sentenced Clardy to 135 months (11 years) in prison and more than $15 million in restitution.
