India: Three more fake medical practitioners arrested

timesofindia.com on November 06, 2011 reported that the city police too have begun a crackdown on bogus doctors by arresting three of them from Bharatnagar here on Saturday night. Earlier this week, the Rapid Response Cell of inspector general of police, Rajkot range had held three fake medical practitioners from rural Rajkot. Bogus doctors were also booked by RRC in Jamnagar and Surendranagar districts. Dinesh Shyam Mandal Tiwari (32), Narendra Valand (35) and Amrendra Kumar Thakur (30) were arrested after their clinics were raided by Thorala Police station officials for practising as doctors without a recognized medical degree. Allopathic medicines, cash and medical equipment have been seized during the raid. The fake doctos have been booked under Indian Penal Code section 419 and Medical Practitioner's Act. They have been practising in Bharatnagar for over five years.
