United Kingdom: Doctor not guilty on deception charges

iomtoday.co.im on November 24, 2011 reported that a Doctor convicted of 44 fraud offences practised as a consultant at Noble’s Hospital for five years before his past finally caught up with him, a court has heard. But Dr Dirk Heinz Hoehmann, 54, who has been on remand at the prison in Jurby for a year, has today been found not guilty of obtaining £792,000 from the government by deception, following a four-day trial. The court was told he ignored a summons to prison to serve a three-year sentence in his native Germany in 2005.
