Canada: Gynecologist faces discipline committee over unprofessional conduct

ottawacitizen.com on November 28, 2011 reported that an Ottawa gynecologist has been called to appear before a professional discipline committee to answer allegations that she approved prescriptions to patients without having met or examined them. The unprofessional conduct allegations levelled against Dr. Joyce Buckley by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) relate to the years 2005 to 2007, when she worked in Watertown, New York. In September 2008, Buckley had her New York State medical licence revoked for “gross negligence.”
