Gowmatee Bissoon was initially banned for a year after dozing off four times in three weeks while working at a unit for troubled teenagers. She also faked medical reports to make it look as if she had done checks every five minutes on a high-risk patient when, in fact, she had nodded off. A review of her case was conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
