India: Doctor, 8 nurses arrested in racket involving female feticide
timesofindia.com on December 15, 2011 reported that in a major breakthrough, an inter-state racket involving female feticide after conducting sex determination tests, being run in an ultra-sound centre on Jagadhri Road here, was busted during late evening hours of Tuesday. Besides the lady doctor, identified as Namrata Madan, co-owner of centre, eight para medical staff like nurses and lab technicians, were nabbed during a raid jointly conducted by teams of health officials and police department by laying a trap. Ajay Madan, Namrata's husband, managed to evade the raiding team, officials said adding that police parties have launched manhunt for him. The arrested were produced in the court on Wednesday.
