USA: Bribery scheme lands 14 N.J. physicians in trouble
nj.com on December 14, 2011 reported that the late last month, Dov Rand was handed a white envelope filled with $470 in cash in his West Orange office, federal authorities said Tuesday. The physiatrist was accepting a kickback reward for referring several of his patients to Orange Community MRI for diagnostic testing in October, according to those authorities. "My allegiance is to you," Rand said to the undercover cooperating witness, posing as an Orange Community employee, according to court documents. Rand wasn’t alone in the alleged scheme, authorities said. U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman said 14 health care practitioners were arrested Tuesday and charged with receiving monthly bribes in connection with referring patients to the radiology and diagnostic facility in Orange.
