United Kingdom: Hospital consultant accused of falsifying research
thisisleicestershire.co.uk on December 19, 2011 reported that a Hospital consultant has been accused of falsifying research into flu vaccinations. Dr Iain Stephenson is alleged to have "altered and falsified information regarding his work as co-investigator" of the study. The alteration is alleged to have been made last year, while Dr Stephenson was working as an honorary consultant physician at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, The General Medical Council (GMC), which registers doctors and is responsible for ensuring proper standards in medicine are adhered to, will hold a fitness to practice hearing next year to hear evidence about the allegations.
