USA: Hospital, physician sued for gross negligence

ultimatefortbend.com on December 29, 2011 reported that an emergency room physician and Heights-area hospital are being sued over claims they failed to detect a patient’s potentially life-threatening condition. Perrine Santoy filed a lawsuit on Dec. 28 in Harris County District Court against Ross K. Bauer, M.D., of Sugar Land, and Memorial Northwest Hospital, citing gross negligence. Santoy says on Dec. 22, 2009, a high fever, diarrhea, severe pain and vomiting caused her to be admitted to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, located at 1635 North Loop West in the Heights. According to the brief, Bauer released Santoy a only a few hours later.
