USA: Accused doctor freed on $200,000 bail, police urge other possible victims to contact them
wavenewspapers.com on January 05, 2012 reported that a doctor facing sex-related criminal charges involving a patient at a Kaiser Permanente medical office here last summer was free Thursday on $200,000 bail, and police urged other possible victims to contact them. Dr. Arturo Vargas, 41, surrendered to authorities on Wednesday, said Montebello police Detective Javier Ornelas. A felony complaint for arrest warrant was issued Dec. 14 for Vargas, who is charged with two felony counts each of sexual penetration by a foreign object and sexual battery by fraud, along with two misdemeanor counts of sexual exploitation by a physician, surgeon or psychotherapist.
