montereyherald.com on January 07, 2012 reported that local prosecutors have alerted the state Medical Board that Carmel physician Gregory Tapson is facing felony drug charges. Tapson, 50, pleaded not guilty Thursday to transportation for personal use of cocaine, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of public intoxication and resisting arrest. Under California law, even a felony drug conviction could be treated minimally in criminal courts. However, a conviction could result in the loss of his professional license.
