USA: Ex-nurse apprehended for trafficking oxycodone
myfoxorlando.com on January 13, 2012 reported that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested a former nurse on Friday. Jeffery Edwards, 54, of Ormond Beach, faces four counts of trafficking oxycodone, a first degree felony. The investigation began in November 2011 when a pharmacist reported suspicious activity involving prescriptions obtained by Edwards, a manager at a local doctor's office. The investigation revealed that Edwards allegedly filled 2,500 oxycodone pills at several Volusia pharmacies in the month of October 2011. The investigation further revealed Edwards was in possession of at least 28 grams of and up to 30 kilos of oxycodone in August, September and October.
