times-series.co.uk on January 13, 2012 reported that a nurse who told an elderly dementia patient to “shut-up” at a care home in Cricklewood has been struck off. Joshy Thomas was found guilty of putting the woman at risk by lifting her single-handedly after she had fallen out of bed at Lansdowne Care Home, in Claremont Road, in 2008. The patient was bleeding from the head and cried out when another nurse attempted to dress the wound. As she shouted, Mr Thomas pointed close to her face and told her to “shut-up”.
