Canada: Accused doctor's name finally published

durhamregion.com on January 17, 2012 reported that Publication bans imposed in the case of an Oshawa doctor accused of sexual assault do not include a prohibition on the doctor's name. Concern over the parameters of the ban last week led Durham police to retract the name of the doctor, who was arrested Jan. 10. A media release naming the doctor was originally sent out Jan. 12. But enquiries by This Week led the Durham Crown attorney's office to conclude publication of the doctor's name is not prohibited.
