Canada: Discipline committee revokes doctor's medical license
windsorstar.com on January 26, 2012 reported that a Belle River doctor who had a sexual relationship with a patient and committed other acts of professional misconduct has lost his licence to practise medicine in Ontario. Charles Nicholas Rathe was found guilty last year of sexually abusing a patient and being rude and unprofessional to others by a discipline committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This week, the discipline committee revoked his medical licence. Rathe, who had a family medicine practice in Belle River, has not been licensed to practise in Ontario for 1½ years. When his licence came up for renewal in 2010, Rathe let it lapse.
