United Kingdom: Doctor struck off over child abuse charges
yorkshirepost.co.uk on February 04, 2012 reported that a Yorkshire doctor has been struck off after he admitted making indecent images of children and sending a pornographic photograph to a teenage boy he contacted through an internet chatroom. The actions of Jon-Leon Armes, 28, a junior doctor in psychiatry, were “morally unacceptable” and brought the standing of his profession into disrepute, a General Medical Council (GMC) disciplinary panel found. Armes, a Sheffield University graduate who worked in Leeds between August 2008 and June 2011, was given a suspended prison sentence last year after pleading guilty to 12 charges of making an indecent photograph of a child.
