United Kingdom: Girl awarded millions as compensation after settling her damages claim

northamptonchron.co.uk on February 21, 2012 reported that a girl left severely disabled after medical blunders during her birth at Northampton General Hospital today left London’s High Court with a compensation package worth millions after settling her damages claim. Hannah Louise Gudd was left with cerebral palsy so severe that she is blind and needs to be fed through a tube, after being starved of oxygen in the womb during her birth at the hospital on April 1 2001. Hannah, now 10, of Dodford, Northants, sued the hospitals managers, Northampton General Hospital HNS Trust, through her mother Emma Gudd, claiming negligence by hospital staff was to blame for her devastating injuries.
