Canada: Psychiatrist's license suspended
thechronicleherald.ca on February 01, 2012 reported that the licence of a Halifax child and adolescent psychiatrist has been suspended on an interim basis. The Nova Scotia College of Physicians and Surgeons announced the measure against Carlo Glorioso Carandang on its website today. An interim license suspension is sometimes put in place while a complaint investigation is taking place, said college spokesman Bruce Thorne. “This happens when an investigation committee believes that a doctor may be incompetent or guilty of professional misconduct or conduct unbecoming, and that it’s in the public interest to suspend the doctor’s license before concluding its investigation,” Thorne said.
